Our Motiovation
Established in 2025, United Colors of Dance is a dynamic presence in the dance performance space, celebrating the cultural significance of partner dance and its impact on individuals, communities, and cultures. As professional ballroom dancers, we are dedicated to showcasing our craft in artistic venues, inspiring connection through the universal language of movement, and making partner dance accessible to all.
LATEST UPDATES
Pilot Program Launches in October!
United Colors of Dance is thrilled to launch our pilot program at Buhrer Dual Language Elementary on Cleveland’s Near West Side. This unique initiative will introduce 30 youth to the art of cultural partner dances, the foundation of competitive DanceSport, and the history of dance. Through guided two-hour training after school, students will build confidence, discipline, and teamwork while exploring Latin and ballroom traditions from around the world. Our mission is to inspire the next generation by showing that dance can be both a joyful cultural experience and a professional pursuit.
Dance Ambassador for the Special Olympics
Our very own Louis van Amstel, is the Dance Ambassador for the Special Olympics. The Special Olympics is a global nonprofit organization that provides sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Its mission is to promote inclusion, respect, and empowerment through the transformative power of sport. The organization goes far beyond sports, it creates a supportive community that fosters confidence, friendship, and opportunity for people of all abilities.
Impactful Partnerships
Through our partnership with Viva Dance Studio in Cleveland and our Artistic Director, Louis Van Amstel, we are thrilled to bring an extraordinary opportunity to Cleveland’s young community. This fall, Louis will be joining us in person to lead a free dance class for youth and teens, opening the door for the next generation to experience the joy, discipline, and creativity of partner dance. His passion for inspiring young dancers aligns perfectly with our mission to create meaningful, lasting impact through the arts.
Community Outreach
The Assembly Room and The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame have partnered with Latin-focused businesses and organizations, including United Colors of Dance, to present a vibrant celebration of Hispanic and Afro-Latin Heritage. This dynamic day features a high-energy Salsa competition, interactive music and theatre workshops, and concludes with a festive social dance party open to all on Sunday, August 10th at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
